My Story

Welcome!

My name is Jennifer Boynton.  I turned 50 years old in March, and I can’t stay quiet anymore.  You know what I mean?  Voices are meant to be heard. But there’s a balance between speaking and speaking up.  I don’t want to just add to the noise.  Nobody needs that.  So — here goes.

I grew up in Texas, but now I live in the Midwest.  I’ve been married for almost 27 years, and my husband Jeremy and I have 3 fabulous (I’m not kidding) kids, ranging from 22 to 12 years old.  I am a total Jesus lover; He is the treasure and Savior of my life. And I am crazy about words—reading, writing, singing.  You’ll see what I mean as we go.  I think language is a complete God-gift.

So, where did this project come from?  Well, I’ve been on a journey.  Some might call it a mid-life crisis, but I call it an awakening.  A journey toward awareness and courage and hope.  And I’m not sure where you are in your story, but I do know that you’re on a journey, too.  And maybe if we share what we’re learning, we can boost hope and build courage in a whole generation of people.  By looking intently at what is true and beautiful.  That’s what I’m aiming for.

On this blog you will find poetry pieces and post-worthy phrases and verses and questions and processings.  You’ll find a link to thetrueandbeautifulpodcast, where I have conversations with ordinary people and they tell their extraordinary stories.  Sometimes it will be my story.  Sometimes it will be the miraculous on-going story of me and Jeremy.  There’s a space for you to comment and ask questions, too.  I welcome the feedback and the conversation with you.

I can’t wait, honestly.  Because life is too rich and stunning not to share.  You ready?
